INTRODUCTION


The Shakespeare’s Birthday Celebrations are a free event organised by Stratford-upon-
Avon Town Council. The “Celebrations” comprise a series of processions led individually by
marching bands with associated flag unfurling throughout the Town Centre.
The Event is on level ground around the town where roads have been closed, giving
easy access to pavements and all areas.


PRE-ARRIVAL, PARKING AND PUBLIC TRANSPORT
Stratford-upon-Avon Park and Ride is located off Bishopton Lane near to the roundabout
with the A46 (T) and the A3400 Birmingham Road. It also gives you access to Stratford-
upon-Avon Parkway Railway Station. For sat-nav, please use the postcode – CV37 0RJ
Due to the town centre road closures, buses for Wood Street and Bridge Street are
diverted to Guild Street. Buses from the Alcester direction are diverted from Wood Street to
Rother Street.

Check signage to see if payment is required when displaying a blue badge and the length
of stay allowed.


Access to these car parks will be restricted at certain times when the processions are on
the highway.


Road closures should be removed by 1.30pm or earlier if safe to do so.

The following ranks are suspended during the event:

The following areas are available during the event:
Bridge Street – bottom leading onto Bridgefoot.
Nat West Bank
Union Street – partially with access from Guild Street

PUBLIC TOILETS
All District Council toilets are open during the event, which also have baby change
facilities. Accessible toilets require a Radar key.
